Dougal Wilson, the Award winning commercials filmmaker has been picked to direct the newest family friendly Paddington film from StudioCanal and Heyday Films. They have also landed on a title for the newest installment of the Paddington film series, ‘Paddington in Peru’. The film is anticipated to start its principal photography in 2023 and its filming is said to take place in both London and Peru. Paul King the director of the previous two Paddington films was quoted in saying “After ten years of working on the Paddington movies, I feel absurdly protective of the little bear, and I’m delighted that Dougal will be there to hold his paw as he embarks on his third big-screen adventure,” He went on to say, “Dougal’s work is never less than astounding: funny, beautiful, heartfelt, imaginative, and totally original. Aunt Lucy once asked us to ‘Please Look After This Bear.’ I know Dougal will do so admirably.” StudioCanal CEO Anna Marsh confirmed Dougal Wilson’s position as director of the film while expressing excitement about what is to come. Wilson will have big shoes to fill with the Paddington series so far grossing over $500 million dollars in the worldwide box office.
