SZA Celebrates the Fifth Anniversary of Her Debut Album ‘CTRL.’

On Thursday June 9th, SZA surprise dropped a deluxe edition of her critically acclaimed album ‘CTRL.’. The new anniversary edition includes seven tracks that weren’t on the original album release. The unreleased songs are alternate versions of “2AM”, “Miles”, “Percolator”, “Awkward”, “Love Galore”, “Jodie”, and the main track from the deluxe edition, “Tread Carefully”. SZA first tweeted on June 6th stating, “Unreleased songs from 2017 to celebrate 5…me thinks,” teasing fans about a possible release. After the release she made another statement saying that This is JUST a gift for camp ctrl. Nothing more nothing less. if u family you get it. 5 yrs is a long time,” she tweeted. “Thank you for changing my life I love you. Happy anniversary #HAPPYCTRLANNIVERSARY.” Showing that SZA is more then grateful for the support her fans have showed her over the album since it originally was released. The album originally had gotten SZA five Grammy nominations, including best urban contemporary album.
