Kamala Harris, the Vice President announced commitments from both the government and organizations from the private sector in order to help empower women economically specifically in Central America and the Western Hemisphere. On the 8th of June, Harris and the Partnership for Central America announced In Her Hands, an initiative meant to help train, protect and further empower women to be able to join the financial system and agroindustry. Along with the help of many organization such as PepsiCo, PriceSmart, Microsoft, and Mastercard. Harris plans on training women and girls with core job skills in order to elevate women and their ability to join the workforce and economy. This is all following Harris’ call to action back in December of 2021. Now that the private sector is on board it looks like her end goal may actually be achieved now that it has sufficient support.
