Kendrick Lamar has just released the first single from his forthcoming album, Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, the rapper’s follow-up to his last work, Damn.
“The Heart Part 5” is Lamar’s first new song since 2018. It is the fifth part of his ongoing “The Heart” singles series, which has historically arrived before the release of a bigger project from the rapper.
Lamar has also shared a video for the track that features “deep fake” technology, done by South Park creators Trek Parker and Matt Stone’s studio Deep Voodoo, which morphs his face into the faces of OJ Simpson, Will Smith, Jussie Smollett, Kobe Bryant, Kanye West, and Nipsey Hussle. The lyrics of the song seem to align with the person he’s morphed into.
