For the first time, fans will be able to see full concert footage of Creedence Clearwater Revival’s original lineup.
In Travelin’ Band: Creedence Clearwater Revival at the Royal Albert Hall, a brand new documentary telling the story of CCR’s rise to fame, particularly around their 1970 performance at the Royal Albert Hall in London. It will feature what is believed to be the earliest film recording of CCR on stage, which was stored in a vault for over 50 years.
The documentary will take audiences on “a journey from the band’s humble, yet formative years in El Cerrito, CA, to their meteoric rise in 1969, from headlining Woodstock to selling out the Oakland Coliseum before traveling through Europe and taking the stage at the Royal Albert Hall.”
Grammy-winning Bob Smeaton is directing the film, while Jeff Bridges, Oscar-winning actor and big CCR fan, will narrate.
“As a kid growing up in the U.K. during the late sixties, early seventies, Creedence were a band that I was only really aware of through their hit singles,” said Smeaton, who was also behind The Beatles Anthology and Jimi Hendrix’s Band of Gypsies – Live at Fillmore East. “Therefore making this film was an education for me, I was able to see and hear why they are worthy of their status as one of the greatest bands of all time. I knew they were good, I never knew they were that good.”
A release date for Travelin’ Road has still yet to be revealed.
