Le Creuset’s Newest Cookware Color for Spring takes us Back to the 1970’s

Le Creuset launched its signature Flame color in 1925. Now, if you check out the site, you’ll find Flame – as well as two additional red-ish-oranges, at least five blues, a yellow – a whole rainbow of hues to jazz up your kitchen! Now the cookware brand has teamed up with the folks at Williams Sonoma to launch Olive.

While the brand recently-ish launched Artichaut and Sea Salt, they were nothing like this.   A blend of refreshing green and warm yellow, according to the company, Le Creuset’s latest addition is inspired by California’s fragrant olive orchards. Of course, for those who grew up with the “avocado/garden olive green” kitchens of the 1970’s, this “new” color will definitely take you back.

The color is available in a dozen items, including a 10.25 inch skillet and the brand’s popular coffee mugs. All feel luxe and bold, the perfect addition to our kitchens as we dive into warmer weather and longer days.

“The sun-bathed hue arrives with the advent of spring, a season marked by renewed desire for adventure, exploration, and discovery,” the brand wrote on its website. “Hints of yellow give this green a healthy glow that can complement cool tones or add a layer of fashionable nuance to warm color palettes.” In fact, you could mix and match a couple of pieces of the Olive with an array of Le Creuset’s other signature colors, including the new Chiffon Pink, and really make your kitchen pop!

Olive launched on March 24 exclusively at Williams Sonoma and Le Creuset’s sites.

Now if they would just bring back burnt orange and sunshine yellow, we could all round out our 70’s cookware collection and make some Fondue!
