Baseball is back, and free agency has been fun and interesting for every team.
Since Thursday, many teams have made some major free agent signings. The Washington Nationals signed Designated Hitter Nelson Cruz to a two-year deal. Starting pitcher Carlos Rodin signed a two-year, 44 million dollar deal with the San Francisco Giants to be a leader on their team, while future hall of fame pitcher Clayton Kershaw returned to the Los Angeles Dodgers for another year.
There have also been many important trades that have happened since baseball returned on Thursday. The New York Yankees traded star Catcher Gary Sanchez to the Minnesota Twins to acquire third basemen Josh Donaldson and shortstop Isiah Kiner-Falefa. Finally, the Minnesota Twins acquired starting pitcher Sonny Gray from the Cincinnati Reds in a trade for their first-round draft catcher from 2021.
