This Friday will be full of fun films for movie-goers of all ages, including Tyson’s Run, Turning Red, and The Adam Project.
Tyson’s Run is a feel-good story following 15-year-old Tyson who attends public school for the first time and has his life changed forever. While helping his father clean up after the football team, Tyson befriends champion marathon runner Aklilu. Never letting his autism hold him back, Tyson becomes determined to run his first marathon in hopes of winning his father’s approval. Written and directed by Kim Bass, the film stars Major Dodson, Rory Cochrane, Amy Smart, Barkhad Abdi, and Reno Wilson. Tyson’s Run is rated PG and will be released nationwide this Friday.
Turning Red is Disney Pixar’s latest film that introduces Mei Lee, a confident, dorky 13-year-old torn between staying her mother’s dutiful daughter and the chaos of adolescence. And as if changes to her interests, relationships, and body weren’t enough, whenever she gets too excited (which for a teenager is practically ALWAYS), she “poofs” into a giant red panda! The film stars Rosalie Chiang, Sandra Oh, Sasha Roiz, James Hong, Jordan Fisher, and Maitreyi Ramakrishnan. Turning Red is rated PG and will be released to Disney+ this Friday.
Finally, The Adam Project is a sci-fi adventure that follows a time-traveling pilot who teams up with his younger self and his late father to come to terms with his past while saving the future. The film stars Ryan Reynolds, Jennifer Garner, Zoe Saldana, Mark Ruffalo, Catherine Keener, and Walker Scobell. Shawn Levy is the director. The Adam Project is rated PG-13 and will be released on Netflix this Friday.
