Kim Kardashian has officially been granted the end of her marriage to Kanye West, as her divorce filing from over a year ago has just been approved by a judge.
According to reports, Kardashian and her lawyer, Laura Wasser, were both present for Wednesday’s court hearing, but West was absent.
West’s lawyer did not object to Kardashian’s quest to successfully divorce, but he did communicate three conditions for the separation. The judge only granted one, that any right to get reimbursement of money that’s supposed to be divided up will be preserved in case of death, but rejected the other two, which asked that Kardashian not transfer any assets she had in trust and that if she remarries she would waive the “marital privilege.”
When closing out the hearing, Kardashian answered the “prove up” questions, “Are there problems in your relationship?” and “Do you think your marriage can be saved with counseling?” with “yes” and “no,” respectively. This finalized the process, and Kardashian then became legally divorced from West.
