Daniel Craig Honored by Queen Elizabeth with Same Title as James Bond

As part of Queen Elizabeth’s annual New Year’s honors list, Daniel Craig was recognized with the same title as his fictional character James Bond.

The Queen deemed Craig a CMG, Companion of the Order of St. Michael and St. George, for his services to film and theater.

This honor is the most recent accolade that Craig has received over the recent months following the release of his final Bond film No Time to Die. In September of 2021, he was named an honorary officer of the United Kingdom’s Royal Navy, and in October, he was celebrated with his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

“If happiness was measured by the company we keep, then me being on this pavement surrounded by all of these legends makes me a very, very, very happy man. So thank you very much,” said Craig at the time of receiving his star, which is placed next to fellow former James Bond actor Roger Moore.

Craig, in a later interview, also shared: “The idea that my name will be alongside those of so many actors who have inspired me during my life is really quite incomprehensible and not something I could have ever imagined. All I can really say is that it is an enormous, mind-boggling privilege to have been invited to join the road.”
