When you’re feeling blue, sometimes the only thing for it is a glass of juicy red wine and a plate of comfort cookies. Now, Oreo and Barefoot Wines have announced just the collab for those moments: a red blend inspired by Oreo Cookie Thins.
The cookie-evoking wine, Barefoot x Oreo Thins Red Blend, has notes of oak, blackberry and dark cherries (“for a smooth and lingering finish,” according to the brands) — and of course chocolate and cookies and creme. It not only tastes like Oreo Thins, but is made to be paired with Oreo Thins, so you get wine plus a double dose of cookie, basically.
Exclusive and available only for a limited time, the wine launched on December 9 on the Barefoot Wine Website — while supplies last. For $24.99, you get a limited-edition box with two 750ml bottles of Barefoot x Oreo Thins Red Blend and one 10.1oz pack of Oreo Thins cookies. (You can sign up in advance to receive a reminder in your email as soon as the wine is released.)
“Everyone knows that red wine pairs well with chocolate, but Oreo Thins and Barefoot Wine are collaborating to take this classic combination to a whole new delicious level,” says Oreo Thins Brand Manager Sydney Kranzmann. She adds that Oreo Thins “have always been the perfect Oreo cookie for adults,” thanks to their “light texture, delicate crunch, and touch of creme filling.”
Jen Wall, Barefoot Wine Maker since 1995, echoed Kranzmann’s excitement over the brand’s first cookie-inspired wine. “We had such a great time exploring the different flavor combinations, ultimately pairing the signature flavors of Oreo Thins cookies with a blend of our bright, berry-flavored red wine,” she said.
Move over, glass of milk.
