Lindsey Buckingham Blames Stevie Nicks for Lack of New Fleetwood Mac Music

Fleetwood Mac haven’t released a studio album since 2003, and Lindsey Buckingham says

Stevie Nicks is the one to blame.

This isn’t the first time that Lindsey, who was kicked out of the band back in 2018 a la Nick’s alleged ultimatum, has asserted that the “Edge of Seventeen” singer has caused a rift in the band’s success. Now, he suggests that Nicks is the reason Fleetwood Mac didn’t follow through with the album they started in 2012.

“I had a bunch of songs, and Mick [Fleetwood] and John [McVie] and I went in with the producer Mitchell Froom and cut a bunch of stuff,” he said in a recent interview. “This was before Christine [McVie] returned to the band in 2014. We very much wanted to draw Stevie in, and for some reason she refused to participate.”

While Lindsey made quite detailed claims regarding the matter, he did also say that he would be interested in another Fleetwood Mac reunion.

“Who knows, maybe we’ll manage to see clear to have one more nice run out there,” he said. “That would be the proper way to go.”
