Wednesday Wins in the NBA, MLB Collective Bargaining Agreement Expires

On Wednesday night, the NBA offered a handful of notable match-ups that were narrowly won. The Boston Celtics defeated the Philadelphia 76ers, 88-87. The Milwaukee Bucks escaped a night contest with the Charlotte Hornets, as they won 127-125. The major upset of the evening was the 5-18 Orlando Magic defeating the now 10-11 Denver Nuggets, 108-103.

In baseball news, the MLB will go into its first lockout since the 1994 season. The work-stoppage is a result of conflicting interests between players and owners, as the expired Collective Bargaining Agreement has officially led to a lockout. The Major League Winter Meetings are also canceled, as owners and players will spend December and January developing a new CBA that must be approved by the MLB Players’ Association.
