This Friday offers movie-goers a great variety of film releases, including Tick, Tick…Boom, Ghostbusters: Afterlife, and King Richard.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife reintroduces audiences to yet another rival of the 1984 classic. Featuring a cast of familiar faces like Paul Rudd, Finn Wolfhard, Sigourney Weaver, Joe Russo, Anthony Russo, and more. The film tells the story of a single mom and her two kids who arrive in a small town and begin to discover their connection to the original ghostbusters and the secret legacy their grandfather left behind. The film, directed by Jason Reitman, will be released nationwide on November 19th.
Tick, Tick…Boom! stars Andrew Garfield and directed by Lin-Manuel Miranda as his feature directional debut. An adaptation of the autobiographical musical by Jonathan Larson—the creator of Rent—follows a promising young theater composer on the cusp of his 30th birthday. He struggles to navigate love, friendship, and the pressures of life as an artist in New York City. The film also stars Alexandra Shipp, Robin de Jesus, Joshua Henry, Judith Light, and Vanessa Hudgens. Tick, Tick…Boom! be available for streaming on Netflix beginning this Friday.
King Richard is a sports biopic that centers around Richard Williams, the determined father of Venus and Serena Williams. The story follows Williams (Will Smith) as he works to train his daughters into Tennis history. The film, directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green and based on the true story of the Williams sisters’ upbringing, the film also stars Demi Singleton (Serena), Saniyya Sidney (Venus), Aunjanue Ellis (Brandi Williams), Tony Goldwyn, Live Schreiber, and others. King Richard will be released this Friday, nationwide.
