Five-time American Music Awards winner, Cardi B, has just been announced as the 2021 host for the star-studded, fan-voted event. Along with being the conductor of the show, the beloved rapper also has three nominations at this year’s show for favorite female hip-hop artist, favorite music video for “Up,” and favorite hip-hop song for the same track.
“We are immensely excited to have the dynamic Cardi B bring her infectious energy to the American Music Awards as a first-time host,” said executive producer Jesse Collins in a statement Tuesday.
The 2021 AMAs will air live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, November 21st. It will be the fifth consecutive year that a Black female star will host the show.
