This Friday’s box office has something for everyone with the opening of a horror flick, a drama, and a psychological thriller all in one day.
Antlers, directed by Scott Cooper and starring Keri Russell, Jesse Plemons, Jeremy T. Thomas, Graham Green, Scott Haze, Rory Cochrane, Amy Madigan, and more, is an R-rated horror-thriller that tells of how a small-town Oregon teacher (Keri Russell) and her brother (Jesse Plemons), the local sheriff, became entwined with a young student (Jeremy T. Thomas) harboring a dangerous secret with frightening consequences. Running just under 1 hour and 40 minutes, Antler is sure to be the ultimate lead-up to Halloween weekend.
A Mouthful of Air, directed by Amy Koppelman and starring Amanda Seyfried, Finn Wittrock, Amy Irving, Paul Giamatti, Jennifer Carpenter, Britt Robertson, and more, is about Julie Davis (Seyfried), who is warm, kind, loving to her husband and child, and is a bestselling children’s author. While her books deal with unlocking childhood fears, she has yet to unlock the dark secret that has haunted her own life. But when her second child is born, events occur that bring that secret to the fore, and with it, a crushing, powerful battle to survive. The film is rated R and is based on Amy Koppelman’s novel of the same name.
Last Night in Soho is Edgar Wright’s new psychological thriller about a young girl, passionate about fashion design, who is mysteriously able to enter the 1960s where she encounters her idol, a dazzling wannabe singer. But 1960s London is not what it appears, and time seems to fall apart with shady consequences. Wright, the film’s director and screenwriter, curated a unique cast featuring Anya Taylor-Joy, Matt Smith, Thomasin Harcourt McKenzie, Diana Rigg, Terence Stamp, and more.
Antlers, A Mouthful of Air, and Last Night in Soho will all be released this Friday on October 29th, nationwide.
