On Saturday night, April 13th, Mariah Carey celebrated Easter in a very special way. Mimi joined thousands of other New Yorkers in paying homage to the hard-working first responders who are working long hours taking care of the city’s COVID-19 patients. She took to the roof deck of her New York apartment, Carey, wearing pink bunny ears and silk floral jammies for the occasion.
The video posted to Twitter showed the superstar clapping and cheering them at sunset, Carey joined a chorus of fellow Manhattan residents in honoring the workers at 7 p.m. New Yorkers have been taking part in the ritual every evening during a period when social distancing has kept them locked indoors, sometimes banging pots and pans or playing horns to let the nurses, doctors, EMS workers and firefighters know they are appreciated.
It was a busy Sunday for Mariah, who also joined Joel Osteen for a virtual Sunday Easter service, singing her classic “Hero” in another tribute to first responders.
