80s Albums That Still Rock

The 80s was an interesting decade, perhaps one of the greatest set of years since the 60s. The 80s was the birth of the internet and the IT revolution, and ultimately Reganomics; the ‘Trickle Down Economics’ that greatly impacted our country.

Here are the 80s albums that remain part of our music fabric…

‘Synchronicity’ by the Police was ‘the’ breakout album of 1983, containing the hit singles “Every Breath You Take,” “King of Pain,” and “Wrapped Around Your Finger. At the 1984 Grammys, the album received four nominations, winning three. This album was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2009.

In 1982, Michael Jackson released the album “Thriller” containing the hit single of the same name, along with the classic songs “Billy Jean,” “Beat It” and “Human Nature.” The album won a record-breaking seven Grammys in 1984. Without this album, there might not have been an MTV.

Van Halen’s ‘1984’ was a huge commercial success, driven by the singles “Jump,” “Panama” and the MTV smash “Hot For Teacher.”
