According to billboard.com, 5 Seconds of Summer achieved their fifth number one on Billboard’s Top Album Sales Chart dated for October 8th, as the band latest effort, 5SOS5, tops the chart. The set managed to sell 36,000 copies in the United States in the week ending in September 29th, according to Luminate. Of the 36,000 copies sold physical sales made up 30,000 of the total sales. Having six vinyl variants helped the physical sales of the album combining to give the band its best sales week on wax. CDs still led the way, thanks to multiple versions in collectible packaging including an alternative cover art for each of the four band members as well as deluxe boxed sets. In the week ending on September 29th, there were 1.655 million albums sold in the United States, CD’s Vinyl, cassettes etc. , made up 1.318 million with digital sales making up 338,000.
Overall year-to-date album sales have accumulated a total 69.597 million. Year-to-date physical album sales stand at 54.378 million .
