20 Munchies for 4/20

The highlidays are upon us, and if you’re planning to uh, partake this year, you’ll probably find yourself ransacking through your cupboards in search of the perfect munchies.  Well, thanks to the folks at, you guessed it, Munchies, here are 20 of their top picks to cure your 4/20 cravings.

Pizza Nachos.  It’s not as hard as you think.  All you really need to remember is pita chips + pizza-like toppings + really hot oven. Pizza. Nachos.

Loaded Baked Potato Quesadilla.  This loaded hybrid is sure to satisfy.

Chips and Queso.  A supremely underrated consume-while-high bowl of cheesey goodness is meant to be enjoyed with a jumbo bag of tortilla chips.

Fried Cheese Curds.  If you don’t live in the midwest and haven’t had cheese curds, consider them bite-sized mozzarella sticks. But also, don’t think too hard about it.

Chorizo/Potato/Egg Breakfast Burritos.  Hold on tight to this little log of potato, egg and sausage to keep a grasp on reality when you start to feel like you’re melting into the couch.

Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich.  Properly cooked steak + good bread + your favorite condiments = sandwich success for sure.

Hash Brown Casserole.  Whatever you do, do not—do not—let yourself sit on the floor of your kitchen in front of the fridge eating this entire casserole straight out of the dish. Have some self respect. Sit at a table and eat it straight out of the dish.

Spam and Cheese Ramen.  How can you make instant ramen even better?  By adding some processed meat and cheese. You can (and should) eat out of the ramen bag, saving yourself some dishwashing on 4/21.

Aussie Burger.  There’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good, greasy burger when you’re under any sort of influence, and this version, from the two Aussie-born, New York-based restaurateurs behind Two Hands café is just what you need to help you feel a little more normal.  It gets its deliciousness from thick-cut bacon, avocado and a fried egg.

Pizza Bagel Bites.  Remember your first 4/20? Okay, whether you do or not, pay homage to that first time you got silly-high and wolfed down a whole package of frozen mini pizza bagels with this homemade version.

Kimchi Grilled Cheese Sandwich.  Grilled cheese is, for obvious reasons, the archetypal stoner food. It’s warm, it’s bready, it’s cheesy, and anyone can make it. For kicks, try this kimchi-laced version by Deuki Hong, co-author of Koreatown: A Cookbook, is just as easy, and arguably more even more delicious—Cowgirl Creamery Mt. Tam cheese, nori seaweed, Granny Smith apple, and kimchi are piled high between two halves of a Hawaiian roll brushed in gochujang mayo.

Spicy Crispy Chicken Sandwich.  Use Frank’s Red Hot Sauce to heat it up, and Ranch Dressing to cool it down. Yum.

Bacon-Wrapped Jalapeno Poppers.  Ohhh, the heart burn that is about to ensue after you absent-mindedly inhale all two dozen of your jalapeño poppers!

Fudge Brownies.  Time for dessert, and there’s nothing better than rich chocolate-y brownie goodness. Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream and let it melt all over.

Cinnamon Toast Crunch Popcorn.  Yes, add your favorite cereal to popcorn.  Sweet + Salty = Good Eating.

Giant Cookie Bowl.  Make a Giant Cookie.  Form it into a bowl.  Add ice cream, hot fudge sauce, nuts… and anything else that floats your boat.

Peanut Butter and Jelly Ice Cream.  Your favorite childhood sandwich just had sex with your go-to summer treat.

Breakfast Cereal Rainbow Treats.  Why stick to just Rice Krispies?  Get some Fruit Loops, Cap’N Crunch (with Crunch Berries, of course), Lucky Charms, and anything else that gives you a rainbow of flavor.

Cream Pie.  Chocolate Cream, Banana Cream, Lemon Cream – they’re all fantastic.  If you’re ambitious, you can make one yourself, or just stop by your nearest Marie Calendar’s and get one to-go.

Trail Mix Trifle.  As fun as it may be to spray whipped cream straight from the can and into your mouth, it’s not the most presentable dessert. Really, this is just all your favorite stoner snacks (chocolate pudding, crushed oreos, whipped cream, brownies,  trail mix, repeat) layered into one over-the-top dessert.
