Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes’ Restaurant Is Now Taking Reservations

Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce at White House

Fans love watching Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes and Tight End Travis Kelce work together on the field in what often feels like an effortless partnership. Well now they can enjoy the fruits of that partnership off the field, but in a more refined, culinary way.

As Food & Wine reports, the duo will be opening their Kansas City eatery, 1587 Prime, on Wednesday, September 17, and as the steakhouse’s first day of service approaches, we finally have more details about what diners can expect to find inside.

1587 Prime is the newest addition to the restaurant portfolio of hospitality group Noble 33, founded by Tosh Berman and Mikey Tanha. Noble 33 and the two celebrity athletes teamed up to create the upcoming hotspot, and Berman explains that “With 1587 Prime, we didn’t just set out to create another steakhouse. We worked with Patrick and Travis to capture the essence of Kansas City.”

Noble 33 is responsible for several high-end, meat-focused restaurants located across the United States. Diners may already be familiar with Toca Madera — a Mexican steakhouse with locations in Scottsdale, Las Vegas, Houston, and soon Miami — or Sparrow Italia, an Italian steakhouse in London, Miami, and NYC next.

The Look

The sleek design of 1587 Prime begins with a nod to Kelce and Mahomes’ athletic careers, as a grand entrance guides guests through a narrowing tunnel meant to evoke the feeling of walking into a stadium. On the other end, customers will be met with an expansive space that houses a total of 238 seats across 10,000 square feet.

Designed by The Johnson Studio at Cooper Carry and Noble 33’s in-house creatives, the restaurant features bold, stately elements like marble tables, gold accents, and dark wood.

The space consists of two floors; on the first level, there’s a bar with 20 seats, banquette-style seating for diners, and a stage for nightly live music performances. In a press release, Noble 33 notes that tables are intentionally positioned so diners can see the restaurant’s open kitchen.

A grand staircase leads to the second floor, which functions as a semi-private dining area for more than 40 guests. However, this isn’t the most exclusive seating in the building. There’s also a fully private dining room for up to 20 people, with an optional access point through a discreet VIP entrance. (If we had to take a guess, this is likely how Taylor Swift will enter the premises.)

A concierge area near the entrance features refrigerated display cases containing dry-aged steaks, a hint at the luxurious offerings that await on the menu to come. Executive chef Ryan Arnold leads the kitchen, and of course, premium cuts of meat are the star of the show.

The Food

Steak offerings include a Japanese A5 Wagyu New York strip, boneless ribeye, and a 40-ounce Wagyu tomahawk steak served tableside. Diners can choose to top their steak of choice with lobster tail, crab, bone marrow, or blue cheese, and these show-stopping proteins come with a selection of compound butters and sauces.

The menu also spotlights the restaurant’s takes on classic steakhouse sides. There’s a twice-baked potato filled with smoked Gouda, crème fraîche, beef bacon, chives, and black truffle, or a steak tartare made with hand-cut wagyu, egg yolk, truffle aioli, crispy capers, and shallots, served with toasted sourdough on the side.

The “Mahomes Ketchup Flight” is a reference to its eponymous player’s controversial favorite condiment pairing for steak and comes with three house-made ketchups. If you’re not craving red meat, consider trying the togarashi fried chicken, served with a trio of hot, chive, and wasabi honeys.

The Cocktails

Cocktail offerings align with the opulent interior and classic steakhouse vibe. The highlight of the drinks menu is a martini cart, which allows guests to devise a customized version of the cocktail or opt for 1587 Prime’s signature recipe, a combination of Ketel One, Bombay Sapphire, Italicus, roasted fennel, and Fino sherry. (Of course, this raises the question, what are Travis and Taylor’s martini orders?)

The drinks program is overseen by Noble 33 beverage director Juan Carlos Santana, a certified sommelier and Michelin Guide Exceptional Cocktails Award winner. It offers a wide selection of wines and beers, along with custom cocktails like “The Alchemy” — a nod to Swift’s latest album — which features a clarified citrus vodka blend, dry Curaçao, aronia berry, cranberry, strawberry, lime, and oolong tea.
